The winner of the Tony Award® for Best Musical is The Outsiders. This classic coming-of-age story takes you to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1967, where Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade, and their family of Greaser “outsiders” dream about who they want to become in a world that will never accept them. The Outsiders features a “tuneful and soul-bearing” (New York Stage Review) original score, “high-octane choreography” (New York Magazine), and a “sensational young cast” (The Wall Street Journal) that brings the show to life.
There is a rain effect on stage. Drops of water and small rubber pieces from the stage floor may land in or near the first two rows of the Orchestra section (rows A and B).
"I absolutely loved this production!!! It was a dream come true to travel from Melbourne Australia to see this in NYC and it did not disappoint. From the performance to the stage setting, I could not say a bad word as it was so moving, it brought me to tears. Outstanding in every way and highly recommend!!!"

Incredible Show
"I read the book about 40 years ago and saw the movie later. This show took me right back to my memories of this fantastic plot. Absolutely great singing. Fantastic and charismatic actors. The battle in the rain was incredible. Laughs, chills an (expected) tears at the end. All gold!"

Matched the title of the book it was representing
"The topic is intense, and it reflects the book quite well. While we saw three understudy’s including the main character, which was disappointing, however the acting was superb. Congrats to the cast and crew for putting on an amazing show!"

Stay gold!
"Saw the show with my 14-year old daughter who had recently read the book. She absolutely loved it! She said it might surpass Hamilton in terms of being her favorite show. I really enjoyed it. I typically go for “lighter” shows and this was a little heavier but it was fantastic! "

Unexpected pleasure
"I did not know the story. I asked my 14 year old granddaughter choose and what a good evening it was! Music good. Two different groups and their conflict was well presented and a thought provoking experience. A touch of humor as well as sadness "

New show showcases amazing new Broadway talent
"From the set to the vocal talent, The Outsiders kept my on the edge of my seat the entire time. To have a singular stage where moving the props created the backdrop for new scenes, this was creation at its finest! The vocal talent was incredible and each actor brought depth and reality to each character. Definitely one of the best shows I have attended!"
